INterest rates decline
Home-mortgage rates fell this week, with the average rate on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages dropping back below 5% as Treasury yields continue to fluctuate, according to Freddie Mac’s weekly survey.

I recently read an article from Jeff Bader of the Wall Street Journal in which he pointed out the real estate numbers for 2009. In the article he reported that Existing-home sales plunged in December, dropping lower than expected after three straight increases that were fed by a fat government tax credit.

Sandhills Retirement
Thinking about retirement? CNN’s money.com has come out with a list of the top 25 cities to retire and Pinehurst is listed at fourth out of 25 nationwide. Now CNN money is not telling us who reside in the “golf capital” of the US anything new, what money left out is the wonderful sister communities of Southern Pines, Whispering Pines, Foxfire Village and Seven Lakes.
